Vineyard Walking and Tasting Tours.

Due to the popularity of these programs each tour is on a first come first served basis.
The wines that will be tasted vary based on seasons and subjects.
The vineyards that we cover also vary based on activity, growth of vines, harvest dates etc.
The beauty of vineyards is that no two days are ever the same. After taking your first walking tour with us you may want to consider a season pass where we can arrange four different vineyards with a wide variety of wines to explore and experience the year round beauty of Santa Barbara's wine country.
Each tour accommodates up to a maximum of 10 people per tour, unless agreed upon in advance.

About Taste in the Vineyard

For over 20 years I have guided tours all over the world, from countries as diverse as Russia, Egypt, India, China as well as the continents Europe and North America.
In the past 10 years I have focussed my skills on the Santa Barbara wine industry: from guiding, to website building for wineries to photography, to tasting room management, always with an emphasis on education and helping people understand every aspect of wine.
In 2005 I started the first on-line website involving video interviews of winemakers to provide an extra forum to promote their products and methods, with the idea of being an historical document of winemaking in Santa Barbara County.
Experience has taught me that the more people understand as many aspects of winemaking the more they can make an informed decision on the kinds of wines they enjoy, and to make educated decisions when they purchase either from a merchant or in a restaurant.
After much research, I found there is very little emphasis on the source of wine itself - the vineyards. I started Taste in the Vineyard to give enthusiasts the chance to learn more and get a feel for "the sense of place" or the "terroir". These are fun, interesting and highly informative tours to satisfy any level of curiosity.
